As the fifth series of Game of Thrones drew to a climax, Danaerys was surrounded at the fighting pits by a militant group called the Sons of the Harpy. Sensing its mother’s need, Dany’s previously missing dragon, Drogon, appeared and burned the threat to a crisp. Daenerys then climbed on his back, and the two flew off together. Drogon was wounded, however, and could not fly Dany back to Meereen. In the final episode of the season, she left her dragon to find food and was abducted by a band of Dothraki bloodrunners.
